Organization and community"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It is the goal of Secular Paganism to build an ethical, cooperative,\u00a0coalition of community groups that function in a similar way to the community and organizational aspects of the congregations of an affiliated church.<\/p>\n<p>It is our contention that our ethical beliefs, based on kindness, knowledge, compassion, honesty, loyalty, fairness, the principals of harm reduction and\u00a0an optimistic view of human nature&#8230; deserve the same sort of respect and deference that members of organized\u00a0religions enjoy. While most Secular Pagans are not big fans of organized religion and would prefer that the playing field was leveled in some other way, we feel that our collective conviction that humane principals and ethical practices can bring about a better world is in fact\u00a0analogous\u00a0to the belief systems that religious groups call faith&#8230; and as such we should receive the same preferential treatment and benefits to which other &#8220;faith based&#8221; groups are entitled.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It is the goal of Secular Paganism to build an ethical, cooperative,\u00a0coalition of community groups that function in a similar way to the community and organizational aspects of the congregations of an affiliated church.
